What’s New

February 18, 2008

1. While I am a frugal person 95% of the time, there are days when I throw caution to the wind and spend like there’s no tomorrow. Unfortunately, these days seem to piggy-back on each other and I end up going a little crazy all in one (or two) weeks. This happened the last 2 weeks and I am now the proud owner of a Wii (2nd one) and 2 pairs of shoes (both pairs “needed” as I have tired of untying my shoes at the airport security gate each week). Hopefully, the spending bug is gone and I can return to normal.

2. Just got back from Oklahoma where I spent the weekend celebrating Valentine’s Day. Calm down people. It was my sister’s birthday. She is still 6 years and 6 weeks older than me.

3. Reached a personal best in bench press tonight. Probably not the best thing to try when you are the only one in the hotel gym at the time.

4. Thought about whether or not I would die if I were to drop a dumbbell on my head due to it being to heavy, or me losing a grip on it. (I’m not suicidal – I just think about random horror things happening to me due to being alone in a gym while lifting weights, which normally isn’t a problem since I’m so weak and can’t lift much more than my 6 year-old niece)

5. Changed my opinion on what my 3 superpowers would be. #1 – Flying/teleportation. #2 – Ability to stop time. #3 (New) – The DTR superpower – I would be able to “Determine The Relationship” with anyone I met so that I would never have to waste my time wondering they like me and if there is a chance for anything beyond friendship. This combination will now allow me to fly to Australia, meet someone and then play a practical joke on them if they are not my soul mate (by stopping time and messing up their hair).

6. I want to go to Las Vegas at the end of March. I need someone to go with. Fun times will be had by all.

7. View from the Hotel Room – Week 11. I’m going to show this picture I took this afternoon to the hotel with the hope they love it and want to pay me tons of money to use in an ad campaign.

One day, this song will be played at my wedding.

Until then, might as well put it to good use.

The Evil Eye

December 14, 2007

This past Easter, my niece was captured giving the “evil eye”.

Very cute.

That picture, however, does not compare to this video.

Dancing

October 25, 2007

While I’m happy for my sister and future brother-in-law that they will be married on Saturday, I need some reasons why I am unable to dance. My dad thought ahead and actually got a note from his doctor (and has been limping around and icing his ankle).

Here are the people I know of that I need to “turn down”: my mom, my brother-in-law’s sisters, my brother-in-law’s mom, and a single bridesmaid. I do have my two nieces (and nephew) to use as distractions and/or someone I could “dance” with.

Any suggestions?

It took all I had to not laugh out loud in Target when I found this.

Congratulations

My sister’s engagement is worth breaking the blogging silence.

Congratulations Mary and Duane!!! (I wish I had more pictures of you so that I didn’t have to illegally steal from the place you got these taken)

Dog Wii

June 12, 2007

So, growing up my sister and I used to play board games. Nothing too crazy, just Life, Monopoly, Sorry (for short amounts of times due to someone *cough* getting upset when I would knock their piece off the board), and possibly other games that I can’t remember.

So far so good as far as normal goes, right?

Well… we used to let our dog, Deuteronomy, play as well. I swear, every time we played Life, he beat us. It was ridiculous. I think he always got married, had tons of kids, got a great job, and so on. It was very demoralizing to grow up thinking some Schnauzer could beat you without even trying.

Seeing this video brings back all those memories…
